Study Finds Gender Inequality in Heart Attack Care —

A study conducted by the University of Leeds and the Karolinska Institute in Sweden has found that women are more likely to die of a heart attack than men, and they are more than likely to stay alive if they received the same treatments as men. The research — which involved examining the outcomes of 180,368 Swedish patients who’d suffered a heart attack over a decade — found that women were more likely to have a fatal heart attack again in comparison to men a year after their initial attack.
